CIPS Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Procurement and Supply is ideal for those currently working in a senior or management role. This course formalises students skills, develops professional status, and is the next step in obtaining MCIPS.

You will need to have achieved the CIPS Level 4 Diploma in Procurement and Supply.

The Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) is an internationally recognised procurement and supply chain learning institution, creating qualifications which are respected throughout the industry.

+ L5M1 Managing Teams and Individuals (12 Credits)

  • Understand, analyse and apply management and organisational approaches
  • Understand and apply approaches to managing individuals involved in the procurement and supply function
  • Understand and apply approaches to managing work groups or teams involved in the procurement and supply function
  • Understand and apply planning approaches for aspects of human resource management for the procurement and supply function
  • Understand the application of the individual capabilities required to manage the procurement and supply function.

  • Understand the nature of risk affecting supply chains
  • Understand processes in managing risk in supply chains
  • Understand risk mitigation strategies in supply chains

+ L5M3 Managing Contractual Risk (6 Credits)

  • Understand the legal and process issues relating to the formation of contracts
  • Understand the impacts of breach of contract and coping strategies and provisions that are available
  • Understand the legal implications of contractual nonconformance in procurement and supply

+ L5M4 Advanced Contract and Financial Management (12 Credits)

  • Understand and apply tools and techniques that can be used to measure and develop contract performance in procurement and supply
  • Understand and apply the concept of strategic sourcing
  • Understand and apply financial techniques that affect supply chains
  • Analyse and apply financial and performance measures that can affect the supply chain.

CIPS EXams

CIPS Level 5 is assessed with 1 exam per module.

6 credit modules are assessed via 1.5 hour Objective Response (multiple choice) exams.

12 credit modules are assessed via 3 hour Contracted Response (written) exams.

+ What are my funding options?

To ensure ABA courses are accessible to as many students as possible we offer several funding options: Full, Modular, or Split Talk to a member of the ABA team to find out which is the best option for you.

+ How do I achieve MCIPS?

To achieve MCIPS (and become a full member of CIPS) you must complete levels 4, 5, and 6.

+ How do I enrol?

Enrolment with ABA is straight forward - simply complete a Student Enrolemt Form and return it to us. Once you've done that you will receive an induction date and access to your online classroom which will guide you through your study.

+ What do I do once I've completed my study?

Once you've completed Level 5 you are qualified to move on to Level 6 Professional Diploma which is available via Distance and Blended learning. At the completition of this level you will qualify to apply for MCIPS.
